Don't Judge a Shoe ...

by it's price or sheen!

Particularly when you'll be running, walking trails or kicking soccer balls for maximum impact. Despite the fact that I get amazed by the limit to which shoes can be a women's weakness, I was always of the belief "You can judge a man by his shoes." on the side ;-)

With that I began my shoe-hunt a month or so ago. I'd needed a sleek casual one, which Aldo duly helped out with. The blue suede moccasin has received everything but fortunate environments. The fun lay in my research for a good running/hiking/soccer shoe.

I thought of the old favorites - Nike Free and Presto, adiZero from adidas and a bunch of others. I almost fell for a lower version of Cristiano's Nike Mercurial soccer cleats too.

Then a couple of serious athlete colleagues here in the US made significant suggestions. When thinking soccer cleats - don't think synthetic, leather has to feel better! My word it does. And when thinking trail/running, certainly go in for an established running brand with enough cushion. Out went my Nike Free dream again :P

Sense prevailed. More money was spent than planned.

RED adidas Predators from the Beckham collection were bagged. Comfort and feel on the foot par excellence. Early touches on the ball - aahh, that Beckham 'wrap your foot around the ball' seems possible soon! Had almost picked up a good reasonable pair of New Balance trail runners when the store guy suggested that I shouldn't think beyond these asics. Tried them, couldn't believe how wonderful they felt ... hit the field within an hour of the buy, satisfaction confirmed! The Gel heel and overall sole comfort is great.

Nike still remains a favorite in Sports 'wear', but I'm surely going to rely more on the other established names in shoes from here.

Time to start serious work on those lower back muscles!
