Men, Women & Ideas.

‎"I'm not a joiner. I never found a club or clan or idea that was more important to me than the men and women who believed in it." - Shantaram

I thought this was true till I realized, men and women come and go. They falter, and vitiate. You have to hold on to your own allegiances strong. And sometimes you have to let go because men and women come in the way, only to find another way back.

Some clear examples of the above in my own life:

Manchester United. 10 million fans on facebook. Faster than any other sports page on it. I didn't start with being a fan of the Devils, instead, I was Beckham's fan. Men and women. At the point I was a Real Madrid fan, a Juventus fan. Juventus, thanks to Del Piero. Men and women.

But soon I realized that the philosophy at Old Trafford was too close to the fabric I'm made of, for me to not join it. 8 odd years on, I'm a die-hard fan of the club and everything associated. For good measure.

Google. I joined when the company had 5k employees. Today it's over 25k people strong. In my 5 years I've seen many a people come and go. I've suffered at the hands of few, I've battled the obstacles created by few. I've never lost faith in the idea that Google remains for me. I've let go of my attachment a few times thanks to some lesser mortals having come in the way. Men and women.

And very recently, some men and women have re-instilled that faith and given me the kind of support I've been looking for.
